I just got back from getting a new cell phone because mine did not work anymore. For me, it is such a relief to have a phone again. I got so used to having a phone that when mine did not work, I began to freak out and think that my life was coming to an end. If you are in edge, you are living in a brand new generation, a generation where everyone has a cell phone, and we do not know what to do without it.
About 8-10 years ago, very few people had them, and I am really suprised that people survived. I am shocked that people actually were able to live their lives without one. I am one of those people who lived without a cell phone, and I am living to tell about it. You had to call from home and when you weren't home, you had to wait until you got home to call someone. Crazy! You guys will never know any different though. You will always know cell phones and most of you will always have cell phones (at least as adults). I know not all of you have cell phones, but I would like to do a survey.
If you are reading this post right now, I would like you to comment if you have a cell phone. I am interested to see who has one. You can be anonymous if you want, but just say, yes, I have a cell phone so I know.

I think it's quite alright to not have a cell phone!!! I'm in 8th grade, I don't have a cell phone, and I'm doing just fine. I'll have to agree that they're helpful in emergencies, but you get grounded for running up the bill, or text-messaging too much. Technology is taking over our lives and we could possibly be ruled over by robots in the future. We are becoming so obssessed with technology we can't live without it!!! We get bored if we get it taken away from us and don't play outside too much anymore. Technology should be cut off from us!!! I agree with who?? and an unspoiled certain baby:

im in 6th grade and i dont have one. too much trouble????? YEAH RIGHT!!! a cell phone would be cool, but i have gone alomost 12 years without one and im stilling living to tell about my experiences (but then again, 12 years isnt all that long!!)and perknis..... old enough to drive?!?!?! im gettin' one when im 15. i have IM so whats the point of a cell phone with IM?? oh well. unessessary???? ok, fine ill agree with that. but even though we dont NEED one, but im sure none of u can try and tell me u dont really WANT one!!

I don't have a cell phone but a couple months ago my mom did, but she had to return it to the store because it wasn't working "properly." She couldn't recieve any calls which is weird but yea, it could happen...heheheh
I have a cell phone!!! it's just for emergencies though. i don't think cell phones are a waste of time or money or anything unless you are chatting away on them 24/7. I think texting and IMing on cell phones is kinda pointless though. but then again i don't have it on my cell phone so i wouldn't know :) but if you are really busy and you are like going somewhere after school every day, you have to call someone to pick you up and let them know where you are. and if you are lost cell phones come in handy. and if you are going on long trips away from home you might want to call home on the bus or something.
